Santa run hits the streets

December 20, 2017

Barooga Fire Station's Brian Trewhella and Santa are eagerly anticipating Friday's Santa run.

The Barooga Fire Station will be holding its annual firetruck Santa run on Friday, with volunteer firefighters delivering presents to children throughout the town.

The truck will roll into every street in Barooga starting from 6pm. It is the 28th year the station will be running the event.

Station captain Wayne Smith said the whole concept of the run is about giving back to the community.
“The best part about it is seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces,” he said.

Firefighters will be carrying a tin for donations with the money going towards the maintenance of station equipment - which will be crucial heading into a dangerous fire season.
