It’s good to crack down on dodgy landlords, but what about dodgy tenants?
I have not been a landlord, and definitely would not go down that path if the tenancy reform legislation gets through.
We will probably find that a lot of investment properties will go on the market now.
That will be a good thing for home buyers, but not for prospective tenants.
Supply will drop and rent will increase.
I am not trying to be pessimistic, however I have heard some horrid things about what tenants have done to properties, how they will not leave when told to, won’t pay rent etc.
